Tile Installation & Repair in Innisfil, ON

We tile backsplashes, bathroom floors, tub surrounds, showers and entryways, and we repair the cracked tile, the hollow tile and the crumbling grout line in the ones already there.

What the Job Involves

Floors get a stiff base, cement board or an uncoupling membrane over a subfloor we have screwed down and levelled, because tile over a floor that flexes can potentially crack within a year. Showers get cement board and a waterproofing membrane before a tile goes on. We lay out the room first so the cuts land where you will not see them, set with the right trowel, grout with a stain-resistant grout, and seal the tub and counter joints with a matching silicone.

Rooms That Are Not Square

In a cottage that has been added onto since the 1960s, we measure the room at both ends, find where it is out, and set the layout so the taper runs into a corner behind the toilet rather than along the front of the tub. Large-format tile shows a bad wall easier; we do our best to make it work with the chosen tile and dimensions of the room.

Tile FAQs

  • Can you tile over existing tile?

On a wall, sometimes, if the old tile is sound. On a floor we take it up, because of the height at the doorways and the bond. We look and tell you.

  • Do you waterproof behind shower tile?

Always. Cement board and a membrane, with the corners and the niche taped and sealed. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own.

  • How long does a backsplash take?

A day to set and a short second visit to grout and seal. A bathroom floor is two days, a tub surround three, depending on complexity.

  • Can you match a tile that is no longer made?

Sometimes, from a leftover box or a supplier's remnants. When we cannot, we take the repair to a corner or a doorway where a change of tile reads as a choice.
